Ordering & Payment

Payment is required at the time you place your order.

We prefer orders placed through this website wherever possible for security reasons. The Verified by Visa and Mastercard Secure Code processes are only available by placing orders through our website. We can accept payment over the telephone. Please ask.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro and JCB credit and debit cards.

Payment By Cheque/Bankers Draft/Direct Deposit

We accept payment by cheque, bankers draft or direct bank transfer. We will accept and process the order as soon as the funds have cleared into our bank account.

Tax Charges

For orders made from the UK, the current VAT rate of 20% is charged.
For orders made for delivery to Guernsey & Jersey, VAT is zero-rated.

Order Confirmation

When confirmation/receipt of the order is sent, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we ship your order. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable. If unacceptable, you have the option to cancel the order.

Credit Card Security

For the transmission of personal and credit/debit card information, www.competitiveheatingsupplies.co.uk uses the very latest and safest secure e-commerce technology. This includes 128-bit encryption, via our payment service provider SagePay.
Credit/debit card information is never retained by www.competitiveheatingsupplies.co.uk after payment with the bank is processed. Instead, it is requested from you each time you purchase.

Shipping & Handling

Orders for delivery within the UK have one simple delivery charge of £5.99 plus VAT. Some items are offered with Free Shipping and this is indicated on the product description page.


Remote Areas
Surcharges may apply for deliveries to remote areas such as the Scottish Highlands. Please enquire for delivery charges to your area.


Northern Ireland
Please enquire for availability of orders to Northern Ireland.


Channel Islands
Guernsey will be subject to a shipping charge of 10% of the total value of the order.
Jersey will be subject to a shipping charge of 13% of the total value of the order. We are not registered for the Goods Service Tax on Jersey and this will therefore not be invoiced.
No UK VAT is added to Channel Islands orders.

Delivery Schedule

We aim to provide you with an accurate date on which the Goods will be ready for delivery. We will normally send your order to you in 3 - 5 business days unless otherwise specified. Where we become aware that the date for delivery may be delayed, we shall notify you as soon as possible and aim to provide you with an acceptable revised date.

Estimated delivery times are indicated on the individual product pages.

Due to the varying nature of our products and shipping destinations, we may use different shipping methods that include postage via Royal Mail, our own contracted carriers and carriers contracted by our suppliers.

Our aim is to contact the customer prior to delivery, either by email or the telephone number given on the order, so that an agreeable delivery date can be arranged. This is usually carried out by a representative of our shipping company under our instruction. Delivery can be made between the days of Monday and Friday 8AM to 6PM.

Smaller orders sent by post will normally be advised via email to the email address given on the order.

We will normally require a signature for the delivered goods at the delivery address specified on the order unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed.

We will not be liable for any loss you incur, whether financial or otherwise, resulting directly or indirectly from our delay or failure to meet the delivery date where the delay is caused by reasons outside of our control. You shall be responsible for making all necessary arrangements to take delivery of the Goods except where alternative arrangements have been otherwise agreed.

We do not advise anyone to pre-book a trades person until delivery is completed and the goods checked.

Remittance Terms

The price of the goods shall be the price given at the date you place your order and as confirmed by us by email. While we will try to ensure that all prices in our literature or on our website are accurate errors may occur or the price may change for reasons beyond our control.

If we discover an error or need to increase the price of the goods you have ordered, we will inform you as soon as possible and give you the option of either reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it.

Returns & Cancellation

You will be entitled to cancel the Contract with us and return the goods in the following circumstances: Where you wish to return the goods, for whatever reason, and notify us in writing before the expiry of seven working days from the day after the day on which the goods were received; or where goods supplied are faulty or not in accordance with the specifications of your order. In all other circumstances, once the goods have been received, you will not be able to cancel the contract and will be liable to us for the price, unless otherwise determined in our absolute discretion.

Do not return any goods to us without following the steps below. We will not be liable for any goods returned to us that do not follow this procedure.

You must advise us in writing of your intention to return goods as detailed above.

Wherever possible, we will arrange for collection of the goods. In returning the goods to us we request that you comply with the following requirements: Return all the original packaging where possible to do so. Ensure that the goods are packaged securely taking all measures where possible to prevent damage in transit. Except where otherwise agreed, you are responsible for the cost of returning the goods to us. Return charges are billed at direct cost for a third party uplift by our commercial courier.

You have a statutory duty to take reasonable care of the goods whilst they are in your possession and up until the time when the goods are physically returned to us. Notwithstanding any rights you have as a "consumer" under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 ("The Regulations") in relation to cancellation of an order or returning goods to us, if any damage is caused to the goods whilst they are in your possession, we may have a claim against you for breach of that statutory duty.

Please note that this right of cancellation does not apply where goods are specifically made to your specification or personalised at your request.

Refunds

We will arrange for a refund within 30 days of your written notification of cancellation.

Loss or Damage to Goods

We request that you examine the goods on delivery as soon as reasonably possible to do so. Where you wish to return Goods because they are damaged or defective, we request that you do so in accordance with our Returns Policy. All losses or damage must be notified in writing within 3 working days of delivery.

Privacy Policy

Competitive Heating Supplies Ltd do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment process. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.
